Level: All experience levels
Spots: 12
Instructor: Grace Whiteside

In this experimental performance glassblowing class, students will collaboratively develop and present a one-hour live glass puppet performance centered around a chaotic dating-show-style rose ceremony, where molten characters from Whiteside's ongoing performance work "The Inflatables" will compete in their search for love.
Through hands-on exploration of glass animation, puppetry, and storytelling techniques, the class will build an original narrative that blends humor, spectacle, and material experimentation. Students are encouraged to contribute their own performance ideas, special skills, strange obsessions, and production experience, whether onstage or behind the scenes through roles such as bubble starters, set builders, costume designers, and technical support.
The final performance (Saturday), narrated by drag queen Whore-ia Estavan, will serve as a cumulative presentation of the class’s collaborative work and creative process. This class is open to all experience levels, beginners to professionals are all welcome!
