Flameworking is a great way to experience the thrill of shaping molten glass using a small torch. In this introductory course, you will learn the basics of melting borosilicate glass rods to create a variety of objects such as small sculptures, pendants and simple ornaments. You will use mostly clear glass and some colour. You will also learn about the nature of glass, tools and terminology and glass safety. 

Ages 16+. No experience required. All materials included.

About the Instructor

Maria Keating has been flameworking for over a decade, compiling techniques learned from the diverse local glass artists.  As a teacher of organic gardening methods at the City of Vancouver Compost Demonstration Garden, she now brings her teaching methods to students who want to working in borosilicate and soft glass.
