Intro to Beadmaking Four Week Course
Mondays, 6pm-9pm

Cost: $540 (cost inc GST $567)
Glass beads are a fun and colourful way to explore the world of glass! In this four week class you will melt rods of soft glass in a small torch to make a gorgeous assortment of beads. Starting with the basic bead shape, you will learn decorative techniques such as frit, dots and stringer and experiment with different shapes including simple sculptural forms.
In addition, you will learn technical aspects of glass and safety.
No experience necessary. All materials are included. Age 16+
Teacher Sonya Labrie is a graduate of the Craft & Design Program at Sheridan College with a major in Glass. She has focused her career on designing and creating functional, wearable, and sculptural works in blown, kiln-formed, and flameworked glass. Sonya is the Chair of our Education Committee and has been teaching at our studio almost since we opened our doors in 2012! She has a passion for teaching and for our Co-op and we hope you love her as much as we do!

About the Instructor
Sonya Labrie is a graduate of the Craft & Design Program majoring in glass, at Sheridan College (SOCAD) in Oakville, ON. She works and teaches at several glass facilities in Vancouver and has been the recipient of many prestigious awards for glass arts.
