Description
3 Days of Goblets
Intermediate Glassblowing Workshop
Saturday, September 6 - Monday, September 8 2025
10am - 6pm
Cost: $1200 ($1260 inc GST)
Instructors: Boyd Sugiki and Lisa Zerkowitz
In this introduction to goblet making, Day 1 will focus on cups with blown feet. Part drills, and part personal blow time, this first day will get everyone warmed up and tuned up. Applying bits, blowing out and opening feet, as well as subtle details such as jack pressure and position will be methodically broken down into manageable steps.
Day 2 we will build goblets off the pipe. Building the stem and the foot directly on top of the bowl/cup, will address timing as well as controlling your heat.
Day 3 will cover goblet construction with the garage. More general topics such as working thin and understanding heat will also be addressed, as they apply to goblets.
Age 16+. All materials supplied. This class requries previous experience. Students must have taken at least one Introduction to Glassblowing class or equivalent (weekend workshop, 3 Private Lessons or a 6-week course.)
