Last week, we were lucky enough to have Raya Friday & William Passmore come to our studio!

Friday, a Lummi Nation glass artist with 25 years of experience, gave a presentation on her background and history as an artist for our Learning Fire students. She and Passmore also did a live glassblowing demonstration.

We were also able to have a presentation and live demo for TCGC members the evening before.

We’re very grateful for our instructors - Hope Forstenzer, Sonya Labrie, Hannah Mhairi, and Mary Brown - who taught the program, and our funders who make the program possible.

Welcome the Spring cohort of Learning Fire!

This season, we have expanded the program to welcome 18 students in partnership with Aries and Royal Oak Middle School.

Under the leadership and instruction of our teachers, Hope Forstenzer, Sonya Labrie, Mary Brown, and Hannah Mhairi, the students will be learning the practice of glass art through beadmaking and glassblowing.
