Instructor: Patricia Larsen-Goodin

Using soft glass, in ivory and black, we will pull stringer in different diameters and apply it in straight lines on different bead shapes. You will learn the benefit of holding your mandrel in the over and under position and will practice finding the “sweet” spot in the flame. This class is suitable for beginning beadmakers or anyone who wants some smart tips for improving their stringer technique.

About the Instructor
Patricia is a glass bead and jewelry artist based in Volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii. She took her first lampworking workshop at Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle, Washington in the early ‘90s. She found her passion that weekend and has been pursuing it ever since. She is primarily self-taught but in recent years has taken an occasional class. Her artistic voice is constantly in motion and she finds inspiration in moments of solitude. She is heavily influenced by shape and the intersection of arcs and lines both in the topical application of design and in the intersection of beads in jewelry design. Patricia's Etsy shop.

Patricia has a Bachelor of LIberal Arts from the Evergreen State University in Olympia, Washington. She is a member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers.
