From the ancient Mesopotamia to Venice to new contemporary takes, students will look at the history, techniques and theory to create original murrine. Students will use methods discussed and demonstrated in class to flamework their own design. Each step will be broken down in the process and there will be some one on one instruction. Everyday students will be able to add a step or more to their main design, growing in size as well as complexity. Born in Orléans, France and now based in Killaloe, Ontario, he uses glass as both a material and a medium for storytelling, creating intricate works that blend technical mastery with curiosity, humour, and social commentary.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eDrawing from the rich history of glassmaking while pushing its possibilities forward, Grodet's sculptures, vessels, and murrine-based works challenge expectations of what glass can be.
